What fashion trend you followed was very cool then, but now looks ridiculous?
hmm - with some (mumble cough) years under my belt there have been a few fashion disasters. Oddly enough, though, all fashion comes full circle sooner or later.....of course, you have to realise I have no designer names in my wardrobe - ever.
A friend asked me what 'labels' were in my wardrobe and I answered seriously 'M&S and Cotton Traders'........
anyway, down to bizz....
There was my 'dance skirt' phase - when I was doing American Square Dancing and my favourite skirt was a circular one - well, they've been back in fashion since....
Then in my teen years it was 'Quo Kit' - a teenage uniform of blue jeans and white t'shirts - well, I don't need to tell you that the classic jeans 'n' tee are still in demand....
Flares - back in style (now called bootleg)
Drainpipes - same again (now called tight or straight leg)
Rahrah skirt - yep (now called a ruched skirt)
But I have yet to see my ultimate outfit come round again..........
White jumpsuit (reminiscent of a boilersuit, with collar and long sleeves) with a thin bright yellow belt, cinched tight and matching bright yellow stilettos (being 5'8", in 4" stilettos I was 6'.....!)
I thought I looked SO cool.........sheesh, the 80's were SO embarrassing.....!!

"Everything old is new again"...and, "If you wait long enough, everyting comes back in style"....LOL!
True that there are differences, but...in all honesty, I think the "current" fashions are a disaster...! This period in Fashion History will go down as dirty-nothing-looks-good-grunge!
I am a great believer in comfort, but I don't get the strange and not very comfortable looking clothes we see in pictures of celebrities all the time, with exceptions, of course...
I LOVE your description of your favorite outfit....It sounds gorgeus to me! (lol)
Wow - you must have been quite the fashion icon in the catsuit and belt. I spent most of my teens in T-shirts and jeans. Still do even now :)
Fashion still comes round and round.
and you were ALWAYS a class act!
And I was worried about leg warmers? LOL!

good news for min - and 100 comments
The 80s were certainly an interesting time for fashion! Yet it has all come back in one form or another - leg warmers, neon colors, etc! Hi, Michele Sent me!
Hi CQ --- Michele sent me --- to say that I am glad that I don't pay too much attention to fashion: just enough to make sure that I am always *out* of fashion!
