Sunday, Floody Sunday

Update to previous post:
Checking on the living history forums, Berkeley castle meadows are now under 3ft of water (and the contents of portaloos!) and there are four days of rain predicted for this coming week. It is unlikely next weekend's Joust will happen either. Joust officials are either looking at cutting their losses this year, finding another local venue or holding it on another date - perhaps I might get to take part after all.......

It's hard to imagine how bad the floods are, although we only live about 20 minutes from Gloucester......
BBC news report
In addition, we are expecting at least another two inches of rain in the next week and the River Severn is expected to burst its banks in Gloucester city centre.

Here's a new caption photo, courtesy of a BBC viewer. Come on, time to use your imagination...

Marge and Harry removed their hats before ducking under the Gloucester sign. Michele says hello!

Hubs wants to go to England next summer for our 10th anniversary. I've been pushing for fall or spring. Thanks for the extra ammunition!

Can't remember how I ended up here but think it might have been via Linda at MacDonald clan.

Hope things dry up soon!

"Mmmm, decisions, decisions" said Bill as Maud got a firm grip on his oar.

Sorry - don't know what came over me.

Well, I told you before, I'm not good at this...LOL!

That is quite scary about the floods, dear CQ...You all are going to NEED an Ark, at this rate....Is this the most rain ever in the UK in recorded history?

Apparently we haven't quite reach 1946 flood levels yet.

But it's oK to build new houses on flood plains - they're social housing after all, so only poor people will be living in them!
