I have been blogging for a while now and I had the thought - how many of my many, many posts have not warranted a comment.....?
I have blogged 782 times since Sept 2005.
Over 782 posts, only 6 show up with no comments at all. That is a stunning number.
You know, without all of you, this would just be me blethering on about nothing much at all. But with you putting your tuppence worth in, even when dragged here kicking and screaming by Michele [grin], with your humour and humanity you have helped make the Palace a really nice place to hang out.
Update: lots of people have asked how I got the numbers in this post. Well, if you go into your blogger dashboard and click on 'Posts' (next to Settings and Template), it will tell you how many posts you have made on that blog and lists the posts. When the listing comes up, it shows numbers of comments next to the posts. I admit, I did scan through and picked up the ones showing '0' comments.

You're right. It's good to get comments otherwise it would not seem worthwhile. I know I wish a few more would say something on mine.
I am here of my own accord, not Michele's!
I have grown very fond of all my commenters - all with their own little quirks and characteristics. It's really great how they can lift one's spirits and share one's feelings and emotions. Life would be much less complete without them.
God bless 'em all!
Oh and God bless Michele!
Yes - its always fun to get comments. I'm impressed you've managed to do a survey of your posts like that. I wouldn't know where/how to start!

Although when I first started blogging, I was content to simply get my words out there as a form of catharsis, it all started to change when I began to receive comments. Suddenly I was part of a larger community, connected to a group of folks who really were some of the nicest, most generous souls I'd ever "met".
It changed my view of how online technology can be used for good, and it's enriched my life every day since.
Thank you for being a part of this journey. Here's to more...
As always, I didn't need Michele to drag me in kicking and screaming...I can kick and scream well enough on my own. I agree with you and other on comments...while most of us blog for our own creative purposes, it's always good to know that someone out there is reading and thinking about what we write. I haven't tried to count how many of my posts have and haven't rated comments (and I don't know if there's an easy way to do it without just going back and counting), but in the last year almost all of them seem to have gotten at least one comment. And I know for a fact that only one of them started out with "You're an idiot..." so I guess I'm doing something right. And so are you...keep it up!
Comments are the only interaction in the bog world. Otherwise, as you say it's like shouting in a big cave and only hearing your own echo.
i agree completely,
blogging is a two way street.
glad to follow your meanderings
Wow, only 6 without a comment is indeed a very impressive number!
I'm like most others on here that don't know how many posts they don't have any responses to, but I know for a fact it's a much higher number than yours - and as tonight is a night where I have nothing better to do, I can see myself going back and counting lol.
Now, Your Majesty... HOW did you find that out? I knOW, with almost certainty, that you did NOT go through them one at a time and check! I do think that is a really IMPRESSIVE number!!! I know back in the early days of my blog I didn't have many comments at all...
That is an AMAZING number of posts, CQ....! You started blogging about a month before me and with the 165 or so posts on my first blog, plus the 441 on my present blog...I don't even come close to your number! Congratulations, my dear on your longevity and on your wonderful loyal commenters and I am proud and pleased to say I am one of that Legion who love and adore you, and will keep on coming back to The Palace, as long as you keep these Doors Open!
Hey....It's time to have a party, my dear....It's been a long time since your last....And that was such fun!
Well it looks like you have a few more now. Just keep wearing those little fingers to the bone. You'll get there. Maybe I will get a few more too. Enjoyed the visit.
Hi Crazie Queen.
I have not been here for a while and I know when that happens, I am the loser for sure because you write good posts.
I have been fairly busy with my dad these days and with mom too.
Sometimes it is a heavy burden but I have to think of all the hard work they put into raising nine kids..eight mischievous ones and one good. The oldest one, Betty was always the good one!
I will try and read the post I missed as I get time this week I think I will have the time. Next week almost everyday is a doctor appointment for either Dad or Mom!!
Take care...Love Terry
Congrats - not bad for someone who refused to get a blog for yars because she "had nothing to say":-)
Sadly my comment boxes seem to stay at 0 more often than not nowadays. ho hum.
I too love the sense of community and I'm very fond of my reader friends. You were one of my first you know and I'm grateful for your early comments - they encouraged me and for all the great folks I've discovered through your blog and then theirs and so on and so on and ... :)
if you tell your dear friend where the "zeros" are I will go obliterate them, personally.
I am Reading Mark Steyn, " America Alone" very scary for non fiction! yeegads!
