Every year at this time, the leaves are luscious and green and the flower buds are taut and shiny, full of the potential of the bloom. I end up checking them almost every day to ensure I haven't missed a thing - and this year I hope to catalogue the emergence of these beautiful flowers. I love that this bud is so ready to burst that it takes on the gentle hue of the petals inside.I was going to blog a 'before and after' post here, but I'm not going to - you're all going to have to wait with me to see what my beautiful lily is going to produce.......

I am sure it will be lovely! I will be posting a similar picture this week. When I returned from the beach, I had 2 lilies in full bloom and they are gorgeous!
It is always wonderful to watch something so beautiful grow :)

Well you know how I feel about budding flowers! I can wait and watch, like you, and enjoy every minute change....Hope you really do document every moment of these -'I know they will be gorgeous', flowers....

I love beautiful flowers. I posted a picture of a Canna lily a few days ago that was so pretty it gave me goosebumps when I first saw it, CQ.
By the way, you were right about the greeting card I posted about yesterday. Chris wrote a very sentimental note inside which was quite in contrast to the preprinted message on the front. Good call!
That's like me with my hibiscus. They bloom in August and right now the plant is about 2 ft tall. I can't wait for the blooms.

I was saying the other day that before I had kids, I had this green thumb that others envied. Now that I'm a mom, things have a bad habit of shriveling up on me.
Michele sent me, of course. And yes, I got hit with a ton of word verifications -- ever since that host problem a few weeks back.
