But today I have to go and get my knee checked out. It's called a clinical assessment and treatment dept and will carry out all the required tests to, hopefully, diagnose my injury and put me on the road to recovery.
To add to the stress, MB has left for Scotland this morning. He usually comes to hospital with me when I need to go. We have both had hospital stays and we know how horrible it is.
I've filled out my attendance questionnaire. We joke about the NHS, but I worried about the question 'What do YOU think is wrong?' - I couldn't help thinking that perhaps that was their job....
More later
Update: well, I have been poked and prodded and the answer is 'we don't know'. There are some clues that lead to femoral nerve damage and/or the cruciate ligaments being pulled. The physio said that pain is a really bad measurement, and the swollen knee is a giveaway there is a problem.
So, now it's a letter to the hospital and a waiting list - of 5-6 weeks for an orthopaedic appointment. And keep on with the crutches and painkillers.

Oh my gosh! Maybe American health care isn't so bad after all... I can call my orthopedist tomorrow and get in next week! Sheeeeeesh! That is CRAZY! I'm sO sorry CQ... you are in my prayers.
Ouch, 5-6 weeks is a long time to wait when you're in agony!
Bugger..........
That's truly a bugger...think about NaWriMo - or whatever its name is - and write a short novel, something to keep you busy and off your knees in a comfortable position...
I'm sorry! I just had to wait two weeks for an appointment with a podiatrist for my hideously painful right foot...not a good thing for a dancer. Hope your knee is better soon...at least you don't need your knee to keep up your blog, hint, hint...
That's an awful long time to be in pain. The NHS is a wonderful thing but I do think that they forget here that 5-6 weeks for you is a long time to be in pain and in the mean time you also have to get on with your life. {hugs}
I hope that they get to the bottom of it soon and fix you!
This is terrible---A Veritable living Nightmare! I don't understand your NHS at all....! I guess there is nothing one can do though, but bear up...OY OY OY! I do not envy you the pain and the cryches, my dear....! Did they at least put you on "disability" or whatever it is called there?
So very sorry to read of your terrible physical ordeal, my dear CQ....I Send You Big Hugs!
"CRUTCHES"....This one-finger-fast-tying leaves a lot to be desired...(lol) Sorry.
I had a negative waiting list once ... I got back home from work to find a letter saying that I should have been in the hospital that day seeing a man to get my bose nroken.
Hope they get you in there soon to get that knee sorted out - bad knees are no fun.
It just shows what the NHS is like, CQ.
