Blog Fodder #12

Firstly, good luck to Moogie's daughter, Meelie, today for the American Heart Association's Jump Rope for Heart Program. She is jumping in honor of her Papa and has raised more than $100 over her target!

Good Luck , Meelie!!

What do you see when you look out of your living room / kitchen / bedroom window? You can do this with photos if you would like.

I'm sitting in my armchair using my laptop. [peers out of living room window] I see bushes/shrubs which are designed to afford us some privacy (we live in a very small cul-de-sac). I can see my neighbour's car through the shrubs.....and lots of grey cloudy sky with a tiny bit of blue.

My kitchen window? That affords me a wonderful view of our lovely neighbours' new conservatory. They have it all kitted out with plants, heaters, candles and stuff and it looks amazing. Neil said recently that they have pretty much used it every day since it was completed!

My kitchen doesn't have a window, which makes it kind of smokey when I cook. But my bedroom has a window that looks out on a very famous Italian deli. And people wait outside for, like, an hour on Saturday mornings (more on holidays) to buy mozzarella. And I'm like, "It's just cheese, people."

I can see down the hill into the lolly, which is what the inhabitants of the houses to the right and left of me call the cul-de-sac we all live on.

My kitchen looks over the pool and a half built house. Looks as if we are about to get new neighbors!

Hi, Michele sent me!

Out of every window in my home all you see is trees because we live in the middle of the woods, right now it's not very pretty but come summer, it's beautiful.

It sounds like a nice place.I have a pool in my back yard and a nice suburban neighborhood out front. It's nice... I like it.

I can see Scots pine, bay trees, hills, roofs, and distantly the Bristol Channsl. Good luck with non smoking. It really is worth it.

I'd like a conservatory to loll around with breakfast and a newspaper in on sunny, sleepy Sunday mornings.

A conservatory would be lovely except they do tend to be really cold in the winter...

Keep on not smoking...

I see my large lawn, with bushes and trees, with a house in the distance.

Our house is a little odd in that the kitchen overlooks the front of the house. So when I sit at the table - which is often, because I often plop my laptop down there so that I can write - I see the cul-de-sac, the little one-room schoolhouse across the street, and the tall trees that frame the street and give it protection from the sun.

I also see our beloved maple tree that shields the gigantic rock that our children play on when they're outside. If we ever move, we either need to bring this rock with us or arrange delivery of another one. Trees and rocks: such simple things, but such important memories for our kids.

Good luck to Meelie. I know that I couldn't jump rope very long at all.
