A Song for Sunday

I am loving 'Family Jewels', a close-up show of Gene Simmons (better known as Kiss' The Demon!), his beloved un-wife Shannon Tweed and their two teenage children Nick and Sophie.
I never liked Ozzie Osbourne's family show, so why do I like Family Jewels?

Unlike Ozzie, Gene is REALLY funny! Shannon is soooooo beautiful (former Playboy centrefold!) and very humorous, and their children are articulate, funny and very photogenic. I am also very pleased at the apparent lack of bad language!

I still adore Gene's crack 'That's what Gentiles are for. You hire them to fix your car!' with son Nick whispering desperately 'Dad! You can't say that!'
I'm a Gentile - I thought that was hilarious in context, with Gene looking helplessly at his SUV engine......funny guy......

So, in this second new Palace theme, I offer a song for Sunday to say 'Thank you, Simmons family, for a wonderful if brief insight into your life'. Bit of a noisy one to kick off this new Palace event. As a teen desperate to rebel but very nervous, I was a Zeppelin fan, a Quo fan - even a Deep Purple fan........ but as far as Kiss were concerned this is the only song I ever liked........and I'm still happy to bop along with the hoover to it!

Can just imagine you rockin' along to this with your hoover :-)

I haven't watched the programme adn didn't watch the Ozzy one either I'm afraid. I think his quote about the gentiles is funny too though!

I was never much of a Kiss fan either, but I kind of like Gene Simmons. I guess its just his outlook on life or something.

Here from Michele.
I think the biggest difference is that Gene Simmons has obviously NOT fried his brain with drugs and alcohol; and above all else he seems to be a businessman.

Have a great week.

I also think "Family Jewels" is a great show. Gene's son is a great straight man. I was a huge Kiss fan back in the day and was even a member of the Kiss Army.

Most of my music favorites come from the British progressive rock genre. The Rock and Roll in the U.S. is crpa (and I'm from Cleveland) to have never included any of the progrock supergroups.

Oh, I haven't seen Brokeback, my buddy has and was a 3/4 thumbs up. The loving wife and I aren't big fans of couples movies, we are into horror and action/adventure. Thanks for stopping in today.

This show sounds quote delightful...I wonder if we get it here across the pond? I will have to check that out...Truly funny person and some articulate children...I'd like to see that, myself!

What do you suppose is the problem qwith blogger...someone else complained about only being able to comment "anonymous"...OY! And as I told you I have to sign in EVERYWHERE...the whole nine know? But at least it is letting me comment...(I hope...)

Just posted a new post myself on that fabulous composer/arranger Billy Strayhorn....If you get a chance, give it a 'look-see'...Hugs To You, My Queen!

That family sound much better than the Osbourne misfits.

Have to admit Crazy Nights is definitely a late 80’s classic, and probably the song most people associate with Kiss.
But if you jump a few years later to 91, they did another classic “God gave rock and roll to you” for “Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey.
