Knowing that there is damage to my knee is comforting, but it doesn't stop me hoping for a prompt surgery date. Everything in my life now has the codicil 'unless my hospital date comes through'.....
Tomorrow is the first Battle Practice for the lads in the re-enactment company, opportunities for them to practice their sword skills
and bill drill
before we go in front of the public in the Summer. The women have started accompanying the men in kit, using the event as an opportunity to publicise the company and the events. I won't be joining them this year as the Battle Practice takes place at a location with a steep hill access. I really don't want to go to sit in the car park for two hours!
So it's a quiet weekend for me - the usual rest and elevation of my damned knee, and gentle housework. I am not on the laptop much, as the weight and heat makes my knee worse and using one leg is uncomfortable.

Knees can be very painful - I have a dicey shoulder but at least I don't have to walk on it. I hope you can get it sorted as painlessly as possible. Take care.

Awww.. I'm sorry you got left behind. Pretty soon your knee will be as good as new and you'll be back and better than ever.

I'll be at your Valentine Party next weekend, btw. I've got to get my own site ready, too!

I hope your surgery can be scheduled soon, CQ. I know you'd hate to miss the re-enactment season just 'cause of some silly cartilage. 6 to 8 weeks is a long time to wait for a surgeon. :-(

Netchick sent me!

Praying you get a date soon. I know all too well what it's like to have that uncertainty hanging in front of you. Not knowing is often the worst part of all.

Saying a little prayer for you that this all gets resolved quickly and fully.

Silly suggestion: if it's feasible, you may want to look into a smaller form factor - Apple iPod touch or similar webpad-type device. Lighter/cooler/waaaay less expensive than a laptop, and pretty freaky-cool in their own right. As long as it's WiFi-capable and comes with a decent browser, it's not a bad way to do light web connectivity work. I use my BlackBerry as an alternative when I don't want to boot up the laptop.

Sorry, geeked out on you for a sec!

Fingers and everything else crossed for an early surgery date.

Hon, if you're laptop is too awkward have you tried using it at the table instead ;) I know it's not as nice as the sofa but it sounds like it will be more comfortable. Hugs.
