A Song for Sunday

A Song for Sunday is a chance for me to find my favourite songs and post them on my blog.

I have always loved this man.

He was gifted, intelligent and articulate.

When he died I cried for a week........

Whenever I hear this song, I cry again.........I play this at top volume in my car and sing with tears running down my face.

This video is such a wonderful tribute to the man and his gift.

Excellent video from a great band. I saw them in Germany.

Brilliant.

And I expect you've seen "We Will Rock You"? Strangely enough, I was by the 30 foot statue of Freddy in London a few days ago whilst popping some pictures and included one in the series.

I'll drop into into my flickr stream.

I just uploaded my picture. To be honest, I'd just walked out of a camera shop and was testing that I'd clipped the lense back on properly and so its really a pot shot of Tottenham Court Road which happens to include the Dominion Theatre.

Anyway, here's the link to Tottenham Court Road and then to the enlargement of the Freddy statue

Excuse the quality, it was a tiny piece of the original photo and also raining!

I was just listening to Bohemian Rhapsody in my head at Target last night and thinking of FM. Taken too soon.

He truly was a talented entertainer. He had a quirky angle on things.

I'm sitting in a public library so I can't view it right now (well I could, but I imagine the music would tick a bunch of people off) but from others' comments I presume it's Queen ... Freddie Mercury was a freaking genius, and now I want to get my iPod out and listen...

Here via Michele's this time :)

What would we be like without the music of Freddie Mercury? It's nice to know that his legacy lives on.

Amen to that. Musician, showman, human: he had such depth and passion that it was difficult to not be moved by his work.

I often wonder who the true musical artists are in today's world. Sometimes, I wonder if there's any depth left anymore.

I hope I'm wrong.

Thanks, CQ, for once again provoking my brain into happy thoughts. You rock.
