I'm Qualified!

What a week that was! The train service didn't seem too bad and, to me, spending an hour or so on a train with a book (or, god forbid, with my homework!) seemed to beat the prospect over at least an hour driving each way.
But it meant getting up at 5.45am, catching the 7am train, walking a mile or so to the venue, then train home at 4.30pm-ish, getting home at about 6pm - then homework! I was excused houewifely duties for the week, ate my main meal in the works restaurant and tried to get to bed early.

So, what was I learning so keenly?

To sum it up I am now a First Aid Instructor!

A week of intensive training in first aid advanced skills, teaching processes and classroom management. It was exhausting.
It was a mixed class, some were brilliant at first aid and some were very highly qualified instructors in their own field, so it made for an interesting week.

But I got a 'very good' on my practical lesson (which was Basic Life Support, aka CPR!), 33/38 on my first aid written paper (some silly mistakes I realised too late!) and a 'pass' on my theory lesson (cardiac conditions - all four of them!) - so I passed and am now qualified to teach first aid.

cq - teacher!
A bit late, but it's what I was always supposed to be. When I was at school it was intended I should be a teacher - until I failed my exams.

Sunday Update - [sneeze!] [cough] um, I seem to have picked up a sniffle from somewhere....why does one always feel like crap with a simple cold?

Congratulations! I knew you would do it :) Glad to hear that your hard work paid off. Now if only someone would let me off my housewifely duties, but then I have been studying for 5 years, LOL!

I bumped into you at Michele's and sent me over even though I was on my way!

Michele sent me to issue congratulations on your completion of training in your chosen field. I was supposed to be a screenwriter once, but got lost along the way.

Hello, Michele sent me to say Congratulations! Those things are so important. I've never been able to pass the tests as I don't seem to have enough breath to blow up the chest on the doll...or at least I didn't when I was smoking! Now that I haven't smoked in 2 years I might be able to.

Michele sent me. May I add my congratulations. I remember when I took the course. I just couldn't get the hang of CPR. After working on the dummy for what seemed like forever, someone announced it dead. LOL I did pass the course but my hands were sore for a long time.

My second visit in less than a day and this time Michele sent me. I know what it can be like when suddenly starting commuting on the train with other peoples' coughs and splutters.

Take care!

Hey, travelling in trains give me reason enough to get on with my reading. Of course, do not do any homework. As a teacher I wouldn't recommend it.

Keep up the good works. Michele sent me here again to give you a hug!

I'm deeply impressed at your accomplishment. Years ago, I certified as a lifeguard and spent many years working at pools in my neighborhood. My instructors were some of my earliest mentors, and I learned not just the fundamentals of first aid and basic life support, but many of the interpersonal and life skills which I ultimately used in everything I did.

To say that their influence on me was transformational would understate how much they helped me grow. And now you're in the same spot: how cool is that!

I cruised in from Michele's to share my happiness with you as you celebrate this milestone. Your future students await...

congrats to you, and I hope you feel better soon! do you know my cure for all ailments, especially snifflishness? it's chili sauce, the vietnamese kind, about a teaspoon of it mixed into whatever kind of broth or soup you like. that and onions, lots of onions. and rest. but mostly the chili sauce. :)
