in the north east of Scotland to visit my parents.
2. Here is where they live:
in that little clutch of houses huddling under Nigg Hill.
3. This is the view from their kitchen window:
4. Behind their house, protected from the wind and rain, is the Shandwick Stone:
5. Also, on my walk to the Stone, I met some nice creatures:
I find cows very restful........
6. And there were BABY cows!
When I pause to talk to cows, which I like to do, it's a comfort to know I am not intending to eat them.....
7. There are three villages linked along the coast, and this is kinda cute:
The 'Seaboard Villages' - it's even on the buses!
8. Oh, did I not mention the sea??:
9. And then there's the harbour:
full of teeny little fishing smacks and a couple of small trawlers.
10. The original fishermans' cottages:
still lived in and so tiny!
11. There is a very modest stylish memorial to the men who have lost their lives to the sea:
two anchors in the small municipal park.
12. And while I was there, I got the chance to go fishing.........
Well, Mike did the *actual* fishing.....and I covered my ears for the necessary stunning of the poor little fishies.
13. And because I stayed in the next village, each night I walked back along the beach enjoying magnificent sunsets:
There will be more, this is just a taster..... :-)

Wow... That is the one and only place I want to go see before I pass from this life. The greens are so green and the ocean is beautiful!! I can't wait to read about the stone!
My 13 are up!
It's not normal to go to Scotland and have good weather - when you can't see the mountains it's raining & when you cvan see the mountains it's going to rain, or, as I heard the other day, Scotland has 9 months of torrential wind, rain and bad weather, followed by three months of winter;-)
my TT is up
Those are really very beautiful pictures. Very nice place. Love the place where your parents leave. Very cool, peaceful and quiet. You really have done justice to the place.

They reckon if you have been there you don't need to go to Scotland lol.
It is soooo very beautiful there CQ. The beach is lovely and I LOVE those cows! A Lot! And the baby's, too. Like you, I find them very very restful. In fact I have a big painting of cows that hangs in my bedroom opposite my bed so I can see them all the time...
I am anxious to hear about that Stone. I know there is a special story there, my dear.
So good to have you back on the net and I bet everyone at your house is happy you are home, including the little four footed sweethearts!
