Cabin Fever

Stuck at home in this with a dodgy knee............

It has snowed non-stop this morning and must be close to 6" deep now. MB and I are holed up with two freaky felines!

Added to which I am frustrated with waiting for my knee surgery. My knee hurts almost all the time, plain and simple, and I am faced with a possible six-week wait. It has also meant I can't go out of the house because I am unsteady on my left leg and the snow is an added hazard.

On the plus side, the little boy next door is getting his parents' moneysworth out of his shiny red sledge.

Today I got out of the house for the first time since Wednesday when MB took me to the supermarket. I found out where the local kids are sledding!

Just around the corner from our house there is a sloping farmer's field which is currently empty. I tried to walk there to take photos, but slipped almost immediately, so had to make do with the back window and full zoom on my modest camera. The dots are people enjoying the snow :-)

Update 1; I have just checked the weather for next week and more heavy snow is forecast on Monday night and Tuesday for the South of England.

Update 2; Sunday afternoon and there are white flakey things dropping from the sky again.... :-(

Yay - snow turned to rain. Just the freezing temperatures tonight....

This weekend has been an opportunity for me to get everything ready for my blogparty next weekend.....it's gonna be HUGE!! :-)
Everyone is, of course, invited!

Hi CQ,
Tanya sent me. I can't believe that amount of snow can exist anywhere. I'm a native San Diegan (still here) and looking at that much snow just makes me shiver. Hope your knee feels better.

Isn't a blanket of snow just the most peaceful thing?

Hey, CQ, how's the snow?

Netchick sent me, and I'm glad. I haven't seen you in eons. Sorry the knee's acting up. So's mine; I know your pain. I hope both knees settle down fast.

You have my full sympathies on the knee. I hope you can get it taken care of soon. I will say that it's better to have knee surgery AFTER the snow is gone - I had mine in December and had two slips on ice in the weeks afterwards, and I'm sure that is the reason it took my knee a while to recover from surgery. Wishing you all the best.

I have a little experience when it comes to bum knees... very debilitating.

The snow, however, is simply beautiful. I just love how it makes everything look soft, clean and new.

Tanya sent me over - I have not visited in much too lomg.

Darling....My post about your party is "UP", and there are some possible frocks I'd love for you to come see----And Vote On...

Oh, do be careful in all that snow, my dear...We would not want you to fall in all that White Stuff and hurt your already hurting knee....!

It does look amazing, though, I must say....

So sorry to read about all the pain you are in----I hope they schedule you very very soon...!

Hello CQ!

We have been back in California for 4 years now so snow is not an issue for us now. However having spent 3 years in North Dakota I remember what it was like.

I hope your knee feels better.

Netchick sent me today.

Still got the snow on the ground here too, although it's starting to melt clear.

Think the trip up norf would have been a little hairy this weekend :-)

Netchick sent me (this time!)

It's starting to melt here now, but then we have had snow since last Sunday, however I've heard we're due some more tomorrow night.

British snow is lovelier than the Canadian variety. I'll have to post some pictures of ours so we can share in the experience from either side of the Commonwealth.

Still praying for happier knee news from you, my friend. I don't like when people I admire and respect aren't well.

Tanya, our fellow Commonwealth member and similarly good and kind soul, sent me today. She didn't have to, of course. But I'm glad she did.

(Seriously...I love your snow pics. The shading is bang on across the board. They speak winter to me.)

That's funny, quite a contrast from my today's post, which is about a break in winter weather and even a sunbath! We have only had two brief snows so far in Virginia. Netchick probably has had more.

Yikes, hoping your knee is not too painful. Not sure what you can do really until they take a look. Six weeks is quite a wait.

Looking forward to the blogparty ;-)

And here this time from Tanya's!

Our snow has more or less cleared today. We've been housebound and hope MTL can make his clinic appointment tomorrow but Tuesday doesn't look good. Feel for you and your knee. I find with my shoulder the weather doesn't help.
Tanya says hi.

As far as I can tell we're due no more serious snow but it's gonna get seriously icy!

I wish I had gone sledging but I didn't get out in it much at all!

Netchick sent me this time :) Fancy bumping into you over there!

Sending you warm thoughts and virtual hugs. Do be careful in the snow and especially the ice. Gotcha all prayed up.
