I am having a few personal issues at the moment, so excuse me if I don't stop and chat.
Help yourself to a glass of pink champagne...
and please accept my best wishes for a Happy and Healthy 2007!

It's back........
Minerva is a wonderful strong young woman. She doesn't deserve this. Neither do her daughters.
Time to reach out, my friends. Strength in numbers. This is cruddy news to get at Christmas. Time to walk by the side of people who need us. Go over and send her some warmth and love at this Christmastide.
This is the scariest thing I have ever had to face and hands by my side, words in my ear, comments in my eyes, all help me to cope...
My Christmas Wish is for all those around the world sick or in pain this Christmas to find comfort, strength and hope.
They e-mailed it to Army friends in London, but the MoD server crashed because so many tried to download it.
Among those to praise their efforts has been Defence Secretary John Reid.
Mr Reid paid tribute to the Royal Dragoon Guards when opening the
Queen's Speech debate on defence in the Commons.
"Her Majesty's armed forces never cease to amaze me. To be able to carry out such acts of determination, sacrifice and heroism in so many spheres of the world and, at the same time, to be recording hit videos is a measure of the quality of the British Armed Forces," he said.
Real or fake? I love real trees, but we daren't waste all that money if Charlie is gonna destroy it....
New or Charlicised tree? I'm tempted to just break out the tree from last year and try and resuscitate it long enough to see if Charlie will be using it as a climbing frame again.
Is Charlie going to outdo his efforts last year? That darned cat pulled down our tree every night last year - it was extremely stressful waking up to a broken tree every morning.
If so, is it worth even trying to put the tree up? er - yes......
Is it Christmas without a tree? er - no.....
What can I get my mum and dad? They are pretty much housebound in the Wilds of Scotland combined with scary intelligence - so no knicknkacks for them!
What can I get MB? What does one get the man who has everything?
The felines have got their Secret Paw name (a catblogging thing!) - so what do I buy to put in the box? Toys, treats and catnip - the cats have had suggestions on their bloggie.........
Should I go to Midnight Mass this year? I am so disenchanted with the prospect of Christmas - I can't help feeling I am losing my spirit. Perhaps Mass might help.......or not.......
Should I do the ironing now - or blog a bit more? I confess; I ironed.....I dusted.....I cleaned the cat tray and swept the floor.....waiting for the world to wake up!

Today is World AIDS Day - Keep the Promise........
This week I received a parcel from far, far away.......all the way across The Pond in Los Angeles....
It's a calendar with the very stunning photos taken by our own OldOldLady :-) Complete with a beautiful Christmas card and loving message.
Naomi? - love you, honey.
Next - photos of me on the web? Let's see.......baby photo, me sewing my borrowed re-enactment dress, me wearing my dress, me carrying my great-nephew, me with ck, me with Mrs A......I think that's it.....six!
MB came back from a car show brandishing a carrier bag. 'I bought you a present!' he declared. I ooh and ahhed appropriately (given that last time he got me a fab photo of JD!).....and he fished out of the bag.........
Not JD, but thoughtful just the same.......I needed tie-downs for my mattress for re-enactment in order to keep it rolled tidily.......thoughtful - but not JD.....
Finally, the felines have just received their Secret Paw for Christmas.......so it's off to do the shopping......

My old heap passed her MOT second time around - yippee!! I'm legal!
Finally on this cold and rainy Saturday afternoon........
And in this world of 're-imaged' classics, I am so pleased to be able to play a true original......and the 'new' version on the 'Love' album is absolutely terrible compared with the simplicity of this:
I passed around the corner
and someone saw my grin
When he smiled I realized
I’d passed it on to him .
I thought about that smile
then I realized its worth,
A single smile, just like mine,
could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin,
don’t leave it undetected
Let’s start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!
Entertaining our Lord Hungerford is so exhausting......
....and all fall down.....!! :-)
And in other news - my ancient car failed its MOT, but the good news is the old girl only failed on her handbrake. 'New shoes' will sort that.
And I have found a new 'blog'......you can visit it here. Let's just say we are in excellent company! But, what a shame! They seem to have turned off the comments option!!

Needless to say - this was taken *before* the revelry......
cq
piqued my interest.
Overall the film was good, the premise was interesting (and if you're a Jackman fan it's a treat!). Christian and Michael gave good strong performances and carried the film with some weak(ish) female characterisations.
The only real let-down was the story itself. I don't know if it was meant, but the plot was see-through from very early on and the 'big reveal' at the end (along the lines of The Prestige proper) wasn't so revealing. I knew what was going on all the way through.
But it was fun getting to the end with this group of experienced and entertaining actors, albeit a bit frustrating.
You're in good company with The Prestige, and it's entertaining - as long as you don't need to be cerebrally challenged.
And the final photo from Cornwall - another shot of me and my best friend and alter ego, Cyberkitten in our favourite place, St Ives.........
and finally - is there anyone out there who *isn't* looking forward to this? And if it's been released anywhere already.......[pokes out tongue]
Turn up the volume!!
