Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen things about power cuts

1. You get no warning - just.........dark!

2. When it goes on into the evening, you struggle to remember what was on when the power went off.....TV? Satellite? Lights? Which ones?

3. We are on a little substation away from the main town supply. So we get power cuts when they don't - so we can use the streetlights!

4. Why are the torches never where you can find them?

5. Why can't you ever find that new packet of candles you bought in readiness.
6. Cats and candles don't mix.

7. You *really* miss TV.

8. You miss your computer even more!

9. When the power comes back on the house alarm starts shrieking.

10. Why can't you ever remember the code for the blasted thing?

11. Or where you put it for safe-keeping?

12. Cats and house alarms don't mix.

13. And is there anything more annoying than the power coming on? You reset the alarm (please stop it shrieking!), douse the candles, resume watching TV/playing on the computer - and the power goes out again............

I hate powercuts ,we can't use the taps or flush the loo when ours goes out because we are semi rural and our water is pumped by an electric pump. Just bloody great million dollar homes who can't flush the loos HAHAHA.
BTW finally got the audition winners posted :)

Ahhh yes! I remember this well! It was just about two and a half --well, almost three weeks ago I went through very similar things, my dear. I now am known as The Candle Lady! (I started running out our "outages" went on so damn long...And I have a good amount of Battery's too...for those Torches you spoke of.
I am just leaving ALL my candles out wherever, now...it saves a little time!!

I don't get power cuts here. Is yours down to a fire I heard about in a sub-station?

I can imagine that cats and candles do not mix.

I love the picture from Wednesday - very restful

Sorry I have not been around lately .

Cats and most things out of the ordinary (i.e. not approved of!) or loud don't mix in my experience!

I'm pretty sure cats and anything not edible don't mix!

Or at least that's what I've heard...

Sounds like a fun time at Queenies!! LOL I hate it when the power goes out! Not only does it make it so annoying, but I don't like it when it's dark!! LOL

My cat freaks out too! ;)

I'm a day late, sorry my dear Queenie!

I hate when the power goes out. However, it is a terrific form of entertainment as I watch the human pet stumble through the dark. That's a bit funny!

Happy Thursday!
