LOVE IT!

Love it, love it.......

The 2006
Eurovision Song Contest is over for another year - and I am thrilled to announce the winners - by a landslide 50 points!

FINLAND

Yep, the land of ice and snow sent Europe a proper band (guitars, drums etc) of zombies, yes ZOMBIES, called Lordi and their fantastic hard rock number 'Hard Rock Hallelujah!' - the video is rather cool too!

And I LOVE it!! One in the eye for the usual run of the mill out of tune Euroboppers....

And to think - the organisers, even some Prime Ministers, wanted to ban their taking part [pokes out tongue to fogies] HA!

Go Lordi!

I'm at work, so I don't have any sound, but I'm watching the video and it looks pretty intense!! I'm going to check this out in the morning on my own. Hope you're having a nice weekend, I'm here from Michele's today!

I thought it was HILARIOUS! Also about time that some 'interesting' music won... [snigger]

I couldn't agree more - it is so good to see something interesting has won rather than some Eurovision formula rubbish like the UK effort, which was quite frankly embarrassing. Lordi kick ass!

I thought the Fins were fun too, and wondered if there was a well-known band under the make-up. (Or maybe Lordi are well known in Finland? Or maybe there was no make up, they really do look like that!) I quite liked the Lithuanian entry too, for its cheek. A load of blokes singing 'We are the winners, we are the winners! Vote vote vote for the winners!' Or something very like that. I think it would have been great if they'd won. Daz was rubbish though. My wife said there was something odd about the way he looks. 'He looks like a perv,' I suggested. 'Yes! That's it!'

I missed it - the first time in years:-(

Terry's always the best bit:-)

Apparently Lordi are very well known & big sellers in Finland.

I though the UK entry was an improvement on some of our others (don't mention Gemini)....

maybe I'll find a recording of the whole show somewhere?
