Moral Dilemma

Folks, today was Moral Dilemma Day in the Palace.......

Why, I hear you ask.....

Well.......

When I was visiting Aginoth in hospital they had an Easter Raffle running. I paid a quid and got tickets, just to put money in the pot - I mean, I never win these things, right??

I won.

Not only did I win, but I won the main prize, a basket full to bursting with chocolates, eggs and all kinds of Easter yummies.

I was thrilled......then I was concerned.......then I was guilty.

Thrilled - like I said, I never win raffles.....oh apart from that one time I won an adjustable screwdriver..less said about that the better!

Concerned - I have an eating disorder (they came free with my depression - I'm on my second now!) and bingeing is second nature to me. What would I do with a whole basket of chocolate.......?

Guilty - oh dear, I have always thought I should be Jewish (no offence!). I am extremely good at the guilt thing. Why should I have all that chocolate when there are kiddies out there who would die to get it?

So I rang the hospital back and said 'Can you arrange to get my prize up the road to the Children's Hospital?'

As I type this, there is a huge basket of chocolate and goodies in Ward 33 (long stay children's ward) and lots of very poorly children who don't yet know the Easter Bunny will be visiting this year.

I did right, I know I did.

Of course, now I feel guilty that I told you........oh dear.....

That's definitely a MUCH shortened stay in Purgatory for you CQ.

BTW - Catholics do guilt really well too.......

What a terrific thing to do; I'd have had trouble do that. Mainly because I NEVER win anything either (except a huge hula hoop once) and it would have been fun to gloat a little while!

Hello from Michele's!

You definitely did the right thing! What a sweet thing to do for all those little kiddies that will enjoy the treats so much. I am sure they thank you for spreading the easter joy. Here from Michele's

Michele sent me this time but I am here all the time anyway as you know.
I think that was a wonderful gesture and you shouldn't feel guilty for telling us.
Happy Easter.

You did do right dear CQ..though I would have had a hard time parting with a basket full of chocolates, myself...BUT, you surely did the correct thing for you and how wonderful for those little children. Guilt. Yes, I am very familiar with it...Jewish, you know...

Happy Happy Easter, my dear!
You are a Good Samaritan, for sure!

Hello, Michele sent me.

I'm glad you shared this. It's refressing to see someone deal with a problem AND do some good at the same time. Kudos.

That was a wonderful thing you did and you should be very proud of yourself for doing the right thing and bringing some joy into the lives of these children.

But, but, but, but it was chocolate!

Us Aginoth's would've taken it of your hands:-)

Oh, OK, I suppose you did right. The Aginothlings are not exactly short of choccy eggs:-)

Well done you!

As a mommy to a child who spent the better part of his life in hospital, I say Good On You! You may not be there to enjoy the cheer, but feel good cause you are going to make someone smile. If I lived closer I'd give you a big smooch and a pat on the back! Happy Easter!

That's awesome, CQ - exactly what I would have done, too. :)

And us Catholics are darn good with the guilt, too.

Good on ya CQ :-)

Hmm. I must be slipping. I still have part of an Easter Egg uneaten. Must fix that, especially as it's late breakfast time here !
