Wendy tagged me with this a couple of days ago. She also tagged OOL, so keep an eye out for that!
ok - I rushed this out last night without thinking about our friends across various bodies of water.....so here is some clarification.
Four jobs you've had in your life
Nanny - my mum said I couldn't leave school without a job. So I got the Friday evening paper, found a live in homehelp job, interviewed on Sunday and started on the Monday! From homehelp I advanced to Nanny, also known as Slave.
Garage attendant - whilst working during the day I pulled the graveyard shift at a local garage. When it all went quiet we used to play with the rental vans!
Shop Assistant at Marks and Spencer - again, while holding down a full time job, this time over Christmas, I did 20hrs or so a week in M&S. I liked the customers.....that's all I'll say about that!
And the biggie - Civil Servant. No bowler hat or black umbrella for this British Civil Servant.
Four movies you would watch over and over
Pirates of the Caribbean - Depp.........nuff said!
The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe - awesome! yes please!
Ice Age - a classic with the adorable John Leguizamo as Sid the Sloth.
Lilo and Stitch - love it; funny, lots of music, colour, jokes - what's not to like!
Four places you have lived
Devon - as a baby
Gloucestershire - as a child
Oxfordshire - as a young adult
Gloucestershire - as a slightly older adult
Four TV shows you love to watch
Boston Legal - 'Denny Crane!' - magic!
Huff - Hank Azaria is fantastic in this.
House - Hugh Laurie being a gruff American; worth the Sky subscription alone!
Simpsons - everyday :-)
Four places you have been on vacation
Holland - as a child with my parents
Sri Lanka - as a teenager while my dad worked there
Spain - first few holidays as a poor young 'couple' with MB. Eurocamp - never again!
Tunisia - we love it there! Hot, friendly and cheap! Been going for twelve years now.
Four websites you visit daily [not including my blog!]
www.bbc.co.uk - news, news, news......
www.welcomecottages.co.uk - Crazie Holidays!
http://eponinealittlemonster.blogspot.com/ - amongst others I always check on the Cowboy :-)
http://www.uk.zylom.com/ - easy games for my simple brain.
Four of your favourite foods
Egg and Chips - common, but delish!
Vessen herb pate - which they don't make any more! Only that revolting stuff in tubes :-(
(as it's no longer made, I can't do a picture. But it was a delicious vegetarian pate, superb on hot toast or fresh bread, which came in teeny little foil containers. Scrumptious - I was heartbroken when they stopped making it!)
Walkers Crisps - yep, I'm a crisp fiend! For our US friends - CHIPS! :-)
My own cheese risotto
Four places you would rather be right now
Calgary (with silentmum and Boo)
WSM with the Aginoths (Weston Super Mare! I know - terrifically exotic and windswept..)
BC (with dawn)
NZ (with Wendy)

What are Wakkers Crisps?? Sounds VERY VERY GOOD! And the Vesson tube of ? What is that.y dear CQ? See..it'ds always the food I'm interested in!! (LOL)
I'll be doing this in a few days..maybe...!
WALKERS!!! Oh Help Me Nurse!!! (That one f***ing finger typing again!!!..lol)
Oh CQ, for you I'll do a Meme... sometime this weekend, I promise. I've never done one before.
lol wakkers.
See now that wasn't too painful was it ???
BTW Don't get all girly fan squee on me but my very good friend ( who is horrid to me but that is another story) is Bill Shats webmaster and close friend. See you have a six degrees of seperation going :)
didn't you do a "five things" and a "seven things" meme already? What is this, think of a number? Where's Johnny Ball?
Anyway....
It's always good to read your meme's. I think I've learned more about you online that in person in some ways:-)
You know you're always welcome. WSM isn't as exciting as Calgary, BC or NZ, but it is a lot cheaper:-)
Loved your meme to read more about yourself. Please tell me where is WSM??? (better said, what does it mean?)
I'm American, but I like CRISPS better than CHIPS. I dunny, it just sounds healther somehow! :)
BC might be cheap to be in, but it's expensive for CQ to get to. We're just a few miles of petrol (gas) away in Weston-super-Mare, otherwise known as Weston Super Mud due to the ability to stand on the "beach" & see nothing but silt to the horizen, while slowly sinking into a gloop that will NEVER come off your boots:-)
I love it though:-) And we do see the sea - in the winter!
OOL - you must have walkers crisps over there, surely? They are the best crisps around, with funny adverts fronted by Gary Liniker here for years:-)
Glossary:
Crisps = potato chips
Gary Liniker = very famous ex-football player
Football = soccer
Walkers make: doritos, wotsits, quavers, monster-munch, and all the "normal" and luxury flavours of crisps. I looked them up (sad or what), only available in the US through specialist suppliers, their US company name is Banner Sun and/or Fritolay
Note to self: Take lots of walkers if ever visiting the uS:-)
How did I get roped into this?
OOL: I find using more than one finger helps :-) post updated with (hopefully!) answers to your questions - and Mrs A has helped out too :-) Damn this trans-Atlantic translation!
Mar-see-ah: You'll find them annoying, liberating, infuriating and sweet. Enjoy!
Dawn: Seen it! Fabbo, babes :-)
Wendy: I'm more a James Spader/Candice Bergen kind of girl :-)
Mrs A: I know, but my appearances are always so distressing for my Number One Fan atm :-S
Mar: post updated and also info'd by Mrs A :-)
Uisce: you're on a junk free diet - you're not supposed to be eating them all, dear...
Mrs A: took silentmum ages to calm Boo when they found there was no Beena in Calgary!
Jean-Luc: With all your experience, time hopping, life in the fast lane, alien encounters?? Yours should be FASCINATING! :-)
