Having finished my Picket Fences post, I wandered off to make a coffee and ended up pondering Life.
Is it a sign of my own mortality that film/TV stars I used to idolise are getting 'old'?
Tom Skerritt is apparently 72 (born in 1933)!
And my lifelong passion, Dick Van Dyke, was 80 last year!
But they both look incredible (all the more so for Dick and his reputed 'heavy' living).
Speaking of Mister Van Dyke - is there any other family that can boast three generations of such good-looking men? Dick, son Barry, grandsons Carey and Shane - god help us if the grandchildren produce boys! And the girls too are gorgeous! Daughter Stacy is incredible and grand-daughter Taryn is a real head-turner. Must be something in the Missouri water of Dick's childhood!
It's a shame Dick has retired. I enjoyed him cranking out a soft shoe shuffle or a duet with the wonderful Delores Hall - or just playing off Barry, who played his son (oddly enough).
ah well, I must be getting old.......
