My Christmas Wish

(Chinese sign for wisdom)

I would like you all to meet a blogbuddy of mine.
We haven't been in touch lately because she was well and getting on with her life.

Minerva has cancer. Yep, that horrible word. Isn't it nasty? Last time we spoke it was 'gone', in remission and Minerva was looking forward to life with her daughters.

It's back........

Minerva is a wonderful strong young woman. She doesn't deserve this. Neither do her daughters.

Time to reach out, my friends. Strength in numbers. This is cruddy news to get at Christmas. Time to walk by the side of people who need us. Go over and send her some warmth and love at this Christmastide.

Her email to me included a very wise phrase:

This is the scariest thing I have ever had to face and hands by my side, words in my ear, comments in my eyes, all help me to cope...

My Christmas Wish is for all those around the world sick or in pain this Christmas to find comfort, strength and hope.

I've been visiting Minerva for quite awhile and was very sad to recently learn of her current situation.
But I'm thinking all positive thoughts for her. She's a woman of great strength and determination.
Here from Michele's......

This is such sad news. I've known Minerva since I've started to blog and have admired her courage. Thank you for posting this for her. You're a good woman, CQ!

To you and your I wish a very Merry Xmas and hoping that you have a FANTASTICALLY successful and happy 2007.

Michele sent me over, CQ.

I've not been to Minerva's blog in a long time. Maybe more than a year. I didn't ever remember her name but the content on her blog brings it back.

My job involves testing cells for how they react to breast cancer and how cancer cells react genetically to several types of anticancer drugs. As a result I'm aware of just how formidable an enemy breast cancer is.

Was just over at Minerva's, my dear CQ, and I thank you for the "alert"....so much for her to fathom at this time.
And then was checking my emails/comments....AND, yes my dear, the box is still unopened! (*Patting myself on the back*)...But soon.....Monday morning it will not be open anymore. I'm excited!!
