Safe House

Both me and MB are Health and Safety bods - I'm in occupational Health and Safety (H&S in the workplace) and MB is in munitions safety (things that go bang!).

Sometimes our living room really defines our occupations..........

His hi-vis jacket and other bits and bobs ready for a week's inspection tour. My resusci-Annie and Automated External Defibrillator trainer ready for me to put together some lesson plans for training staff at work.......ain't we just dedicated H&S bods :-)

And on a totally different subject.....

Monday is the day Across the Universe is released Across the Kingdom. (You lucky US-ers got it on the 5th!) Me and cyberkitten have waited for this day as eagerly as we waited for the release date for the CD (which I am still wearing out!)

I mean - hello? - is this possibly the most beautiful version of 'Because' ever sung?

Or there's the touching rendition of 'I want to hold your hand', the stunning 'My guitar gently weeps', the haunting version of 'Prudence' or the amazing 'I am the Walrus' (Bono) or 'For the Benefit of Mr Kite' (Eddie Izzard). Then there's the convincing acting by young singers/actors not even born in the days when these songs were first hits.

[taps purse] I'm ready!!

I don't know about this 'Across the Universe' thing. I somehow missed out on the film release completely.

Sounds interesting. Eddie Izzard / Mr Kite? I shall need to reserve judgement.

I'm glad Michele sent me here today to receive this great 'tip off'.

Superb versions of many Beatles classic tunes - some of which at least are better than the originals especially 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand' which blew me away. Most impressive.

Your stuff looks wedded in bliss. I LOVED Across the Universe. Although at the end I felt sad for our loss of innocence, being one who grew up when those songs were written. Michele sent me.

I wouldn't do well in your household, CQ. I'm almost anti-safety. It's amazing that I've survived so long. I guess I can credit that mostly to being lazy and thus not getting into dangerous situations.

Michele sent me out to visit you and B-K.

I enjoyed that video, though I hadn't heard of the movie - I guess it hasn't reached New Zealand yet. And my purse is empty these days :(

This is not what I was expecting. To me 'Because' the original, is either Richard Tauber or Mario Lanza. Give it a whirl and spot the difference.
As you can see totally different - chacun en son gout.
BTW here via Michele. Salut!

Been wondering if I should put my name in for some of that de-fib training ...

On the one hand, use of the de-fib could save someone's life.
On the other hand, use of the de-fib when the diagnosis is wrong could kill them.

Curious ... May have to look at the emails again ...

That picture is very funny. At the moment I have a PC on the counter in the kitchen, my lap top from work with me know, A nother laptop on the floor near by, and then there is Hubby's office in the house. Can you tell what Hubby does for a living?
WIres every where and we are supposed to be wireless!!

Lol - I've managed to keep the PC garbage to my living room (plus some of it's hidden under the bed upstairs).

The main one is behind the sofa, my laptop moves around but is tied to its power cable. I have the carcass of my old box across the room, plus there's one called Slowpoke which I built to play really old games with.

Slowpoke has actually seen more service as a step to climb on when my main room light bulb needs changing.

I still have the network cable going over the back of the sofa but it hasn't been used since I went wi-fi.

I'm kind of with PI....I thought, "Because" and My mind went right to the "original" one that was once that staple of Weddings....(lol)...I am going to put this on my Netflix List....! For some reason, I have had a hard time holding on to the name of this film....!
I remember when you & Cyberkitten went to see this in the theatre....And here it is on DVD...! I am glad for the reminder, my dear....!

Hope you've had a good weekend.

Fancy that I need a munitions safety expert for a case in the U.S. (Fireworks factory go boom.) Too bad you're in the UK.

:)

Not here from Michelle's, but on my own.

Cheers.

So glad you posted this - I loved this movie, and still can't decide which song is my favourite - so many of their renditions were absolutely perfect in their spot in the movie.

And yes, it's on the mp3 player...
